Last Call

My drunk counterpart story took place on the night that our favorite local bar closed.

The bar was located in an old hotel/inn that was a landmark in our area that my friends and I all used to work at.

The last night the bar was open, it was packed, and everyone was drinking like it was their 21st birthday. We all decided we had to give it a proper goodbye, so ordering pitchers of shots and rounds upon rounds of beers became the preferred method of doing so.

Around the time of last call we decided to keep the party going and got a hotel room, inviting basically the whole bar back there to keep the good times rolling.

This is when my drunk counterpart made his appearance.

In the midst of continued drinking in the room, I thought it would be a great idea to spray a fire extinguisher in the hallway, seeing as how I’ve always wanted to do that and my drunk counterpart had just the courage needed.

Little did I know though what actually happened when you set off one of those bad boys in a confined space. The hall was instantly filled with a white smoke that would not go away, and it began spreading through the entire hallway on our floor. Everyone began coughing, and running for cover.

Then the fire alarm for the entire hotel starts blaring, and we retreat to our room in hopes of avoiding the aftermath. This is where I check out and pass out on the bed.

I’m awoken by my friend a short time later who starts yelling at me that the cops are there, but my drunk counterpart won’t budge and continues sleeping. Soon after, I began feeling sick and hit up the bathroom, the hotel room at this point being mysteriously empty.

After I finished, I stepped out of the bathroom and encounter 6 state troopers leaning against the wall in the front of me. Surprisingly, they just watch me as I drunkenly stumble out of the room, and down the hallway.

I talk to one more cop at the front door, and again to my drunk counterpart’s complete shock, he let’s me leave without really saying anything or questioning me.

I have no idea how I made it out of there without going to jail.
